The "R" Word:
Succeeding in Spite of Racism
WHY A SPEECH ON RACISM?
Racial disparities continue to plague the United States. Workers in the United States still experience discrimination on the basis of their race or ethnicity. Most diversity initiatives shy away from dealing with the unique problems which exist as a result of the dynamics of racism. So, this speech starts with acknowledging that racism is real, and does have an impact on the success of individuals, teams, and organizations. But the speech isn't only about racism. It's also about success and self-empowerment.
